About Namibia

When you get off the plane and breathe in the Namibian desert air, you will see: this country is one big, surreal Dali painting. Located on the rugged west coast, Namibia gets its name from the Namib Desert. This dessert is one of the most desolate places on Earth and is home to more than just Deadvlei! You will be surprised to learn that the Namib Desert has a beautiful variety of landscapes and colours of sand that be forever etched in your memory.

Namibia is of course more than just a desert. You’ll also explore some city life, like for example Swakopmund. The quirky mix of German and Namibian influences, colonial buildings and the cool sea breeze makes it a popular holiday destination. From a road trip in the desert to extreme sports and lovely restaurants in Swakopmund, or to a casino in the middle of the desert … Namibia is a piece of untouched part of Africa that is rapidly growing in popularity!

We have discovered the most beautiful routes and hidden gems for you and would love to show you. Curious? Our Southern African specialists are happy to help you: request a free travel proposal or start a chat!

FISH RIVER CANYON

Many know of the Grand Canyon in America, well, in Africa we have the Fish River Canyon. It is the third-largest canyon in the world, and unlike the other canyons, it is undisturbed and lacks the hordes of tourists, making it truly a man vs nature experience

ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

This is by far one of the most beautiful game reserves in the world. Home to the massive Etosha Pan that can be viewed from space, where you only need to park your car next to one of the many water holes and watch while herds of animals come to drink. It is home to 114 mammals, 100 reptiles, and 350 bird species. It is the Animal Kingdom!

KOLMANSKOP

In 1908 there was a diamond rush in Kolmanskop, the little town bustled with life until there were no more rare earth metals to be mined. Now it is a desolate ghost town, left to the mercy of time and incomparable beauty, so pack a camera, your Instagram posts will be on fire!

QUIVER FOREST

In the south of Namibia, there is a striking natural phenomenon: a forest of about 200 Quiver Trees, on large rock formations. The Quiver Tree Forest has trees that are 200 to 300 years old and declared a national monument in 1955.

CAPRIVI STRIP

The most northeastern part of Namibia is a wet, green and colourful thin strip of land unlike any other part of Namibia. The landscape is characterized by riverine forests and waterways abundant in flora and fauna, with many bird species and game species.

WATERBERG

The Waterberg plateau protrudes high above the plains of the Kalahari desert in eastern Namibia. A special phenomenon with also an impressive history. A bizarre fact: this rock layer is more than 850 million years old. It was home to dinosaurs some 200 million years ago. Interesting!
