LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
It is surrounded by the famous Lake Nakuru, which is known for the thousands of flamingos that regularly build their hideaways here. Fun Fact: There have been a few occasions where thousands of flamingos have built their nests on these shores, creating a beautiful pink mirage for all to see!
In recent years, the water level has drastically risen, making the salt content of the lake decrease considerably. As a result, food for the flamingos has become scarce. Thus, these poor flamingos have been forced to flee to a more promising Lake Bogoria. This means that the number of flamingos at Lake Nakuru vary based on both water level and food supply.
EVEN MORE WILDLIFE
In addition to all of the flamingos, Lake Nakuru has about 400 other bird species and you have the best chance to see the black and white rhinoceros as well as leopards, lions, zebras, buffaloes, and rhinoceros during your safari.
