WHERE ARE THE SIPI FALLS LOCATED?
When you drive east from Uganda’s capital Kampala, you will find the lush green Mount Elgon National Park on the border with Kenya. For a fair price, you can walk in this park and hike Mount Elgon. However, you can also just go to Sipi Falls! This area, at the edge of Mount Elgon National park, is just as beautiful, and you can go on incredibly beautiful hikes
WHAT CAN YOU DO AT SIPI FALLS?
The mountainous area is dotted with jungle vegetation, waterfalls, rivers, coffee plantations, and banana plants. Here you can also find hidden clay houses. Those are the ingredients for an unforgettable hike! You can take a long hike, where you pass all the waterfalls. Shower under the smaller waterfalls, or go rappelling along the longest waterfall which is no less than 100 metres high!
Are you a coffee lover? Then you may know that they sell coffee from Sipi Falls, Uganda at the Simon Lévelt in the Netherlands. The hills are covered with coffee plantations where you can stroll through during a coffee tour. Learn step by step how the coffee is made, grind a few coffee beans, and of course, don’t forget to taste a cup of coffee!
WHERE CAN YOU SLEEP AT THE SIPI FALLS
In this area, you will find many accommodations against the mountain walls, all with beautiful views of the valley or one of the waterfalls. Most accommodations in Sipi Falls are fairly basic, which creates a feeling of being more in touch or closer to mother nature.
