Magadi Dessert
With the sun on your head, you ride through the dust as you literally go off the beaten track. You tear your motorbike across the bone-dry and cracked open ground, under the scorching African sun. Clouds of dust blow up through the wind and tiny tornados shoot out from behind your wheels.
The Route
Around Magadi, we have developed several routes where you get to know the area from your motorbike. Meet the local, colourfully-dressed Kenyan tribes, cross towards the Magadi hotsprings that arise from the volcanic landscape here, or go in search of wildlife. There’s a good chance you’ll come face-to-face with a giraffe or a zebra!
Camping in the wild
Camp in the middle of the plains of Magadi or sleep in a luxury lodge. One thing is certain: everywhere you look is breathtakingly beautiful! The favourable climate means a variety of birds can be found around Lake Magadi, including bright pink flamingos and pelicans.
The Motorbikes
We use 150cc Hondas & Bajaj boxers. These are the most widely used motorbikes in Kenya, which means spare parts are available on every street corner. A mechanic and a Masai guide will accompany you, who know every corner of their country. For the real adrenaline-seekers, 250cc motorbikes are available.
