MOTORSAFARI MAGADI

Whether you’re brave enough to drive yourself or sit behind an experienced local guide – you will ride motorcycles across the desolate plains of the Magadi Desert and experience Kenyan culture, wildlife and nature.

MAGADI DESERT

Imagine driving through the desert, working your way through dust lands while you go off the beaten track. You’ll navigate your motorcycle over the bone-dry cracked ground, under the sweltering sun. Clouds of dust blow up in the wind and small tornados shoot out from behind your wheels! That experience is not worth missing!

THE ROUTE

We have developed various routes around Magadi where you can get to know the area from your motorcycle. You will meet the local, colourfully-dressed Kenyan tribes, cross towards the Magadi hot springs that flow from the volcanic landscape, or look for wildlife. There is a good chance that you will come across a giraffe or a zebra!

CAMPING IN THE WILD

Whether you camp on the remarkably red Lake Natron, located on the border of Tanzania, or sleep in a luxury lodge in Magadi; one thing is certain, it is breathtakingly beautiful! Due to the favourable climate, there are a variety of birds around Lake Natron and Lake Magadi, including bright pink flamingos and pelicans.

THE ENGINES

We use 150cc Hondas & Bajaj boxers, but 250cc motorcycles are available for real, adrenaline seekers. These are the most commonly used motorbikes in Kenya, which means, spare parts are available on every street corner. Don’t worry, during your adventure, you’ll be accompanied by a mechanic, and a Maasai guide to show you around.

HLUHLUWE-IMFOLOZI

The rolling hills of Hluhluwe-iMfolozi in KwaZulu-Natal with lots of green are a paradise for the self-driver. Located in the heart of Zululand, this park was established in 1895, making it one of the oldest game reserves in Africa! It is home to Big 5, but you also have a chance of spotting cheetahs and Wild Dogs. Throughout the park you can find several hides, where you can watch the wild animals drinking and playing by the rivers.

ELEPHANT COAST

The bush to beach experience on the Elephant Coast is varied, unique and cultural in many ways. This area is located in the east of South Africa, in the Kwazulu-Natal province. Sodwana Bay is ideal for a dive into marine life, in St. Lucia you will find hundreds of hippos (sometimes even in the village itself) and in HluHluwe-iMfolozi you can spot the BIG 5.

GREATER KRUGER

LOCAL LIVING IN SODWANA BAY

Sodwana Bay is a bay in South Africa on the north coast of KwaZulu Natal, between St. Lucia and Lake Sibaya. It is a popular diving destination and lies in the middle of South Africa's oldest Maputaland Marine Protected Area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. But apart from the wonderful beach vibes, this place is also known for its rich Zulu Culture which we would like to show you.

KOSI BAY
